A visual Integrated search tool that allows users to draw entities and connections for querying large databases is a powerful interface designed to make complex data queries intuitive and accessible. Here’s how it generally works:
The tool features a graphical user interface (GUI) where users can draw and manipulate visual representations of entities (such as people, places, objects, or events) and the connections between them.
Users can draw lines or arrows between entities to represent relationships or interactions.
Users can draw lines or arrows between entities to represent relationships or interactions.
Each entity and connection can be enriched with detailed attributes. For example, a “Person” entity might include attributes like age, address, or occupation, while a “Transaction” connection might include attributes like amount, date, or location.
As users draw and connect entities, the tool automatically translates these visual elements into a structured query language (SQL) or another database query language. This process generates a complex query that can search the underlying database for matching records.
Query results are displayed visually within the same interface. Matching entities and connections are highlighted, and users can further explore these results by clicking on them to view detailed information.
The search results are always linked, what means that after you run a query in multiple databases, Caseboard identifies same entities across all data and present a unified set of records, no matter how many databases are connected.

All the search results and analysis can be saved on the Intelligence Database, unifying and keeping memory of the analysis work done.
This functionality allows that instead of importing entire databases, Caseboard users can bring only what really matters.
To perform a visual search, it is necessary to set up a search structure, this structure can be simple or complex. Using entities, attributes, links and parameters we can create these search structures.
You can select the entity in the Entities Panel and drag it to the Search Panel where the search structure will be created.
A complete suite for criminal investigation and anti-fraud. Caseboard is the main tool for intelligence teams.
